AboutThe Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer II to join our growing engineering team in Carol Stream, IL. This role supports the design, development, and execution of mechanical systems and components for industrial and food automation machinery
. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience designing automation equipment, working with pneumatic and structural assemblies, and supporting projects from concept through build and validation.
- Develop and manage project plans, priorities, and technical objectives across multiple engineering initiatives
- Design mechanical parts, assemblies, and subsystems using Solid Works
- Create, review, and release accurate 2D/3D drawings for manufacturing and quality control
- Select mechanical components and collaborate with vendors for cost‑effective sourcing
- Support prototype assembly, machine build, testing, and validation (including pneumatic and hydraulic systems)
- Participate in troubleshooting and problem resolution during build and startup phases
- Maintain engineering documentation in accordance with company standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 3–5 years of mechanical engineering experience in industrial or automation environments
- Proficiency in Solid Works and mechanical drafting standards
- Experience designing automation equipment, machine assemblies, or structural systems
- Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
- Experience collaborating with manufacturing and cross‑functional teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience in food, beverage, RB, ESL, or XP machine design
- Background in filling, capping, or packaging machinery
- Experience with document control systems (e.g., Smar Team or PLM systems)
- Exposure to machine validation, FAT, or commissioning support
Physical Requirements
- Primarily office and manufacturing floor environment
- Occasional travel may be required (domestic and/or international)
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and work in a manufacturing setting as needed
