As an extension of our member districts, Western DuPage Special Recreation Association provides support staff to assist individuals who have special needs and are participating in park district programs.
Requirements- Working towards a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation
- Two to three years of direct experience working with individuals with disabilities
- At least twenty-one years of age and possess a valid Illinois Class "D" Driver's License & ability to drive agency vehicles
- Own transportation to and from agency worksites
- First Aid/CPR certification required or the ability to obtain

This experience meets NCTRC internship requirements. The student is responsible for program planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic recreation programs. Supervision, and safety of WDSRA participants, equipment, and monies, while working therapeutic recreation programs, trips, and special events.
