Job DescriptionThis position operates a shot blast to remove rust and forged scale from parts, small and large parts that are then processed to the specified work orders and customer needs in the Production and Quality departments.
Starting Wage: $19.00
We offer a 2nd shift differential of $2.00 per hour and 3rd shift differential of $3.00 per hour
Responsibilities- The Shot Blast technician is responsible for satisfying customer (next process) requirements of quality, production quantity and delivery, in a safe manner while maximizing productivity.
- Oversees the shot blast process, including evaluating work orders, properly and efficiently setting up the shot blast and other required machines.
- Call up materials based on production schedule.
- Continuously monitor/inspect job for quality, packaging material per customer requirements, and cleaning the shot blast room and work area.
- Safely operate a forklift to pull/lift baskets of manufactured parts to load and unload machine.
- Implement effective team building skills and enforce company safety rules and regulations with the forging inspectors.
- Organize material based on business needs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be mechanically inclined, production oriented, and safety and quality conscious.
- Must be able to operate a forklift and be certified internally.
- Basic math skills (add/subtract/divide/multiply whole numbers) required.
- A general knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices.
- Working knowledge of general computer programs strongly preferred.
- Ability to work well independently and remain productive.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Bump caps, steel toe safety shoes, and safety glasses are required in all production areas. Hearing protection is required in specific areas.
Physical Demands- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazards common to industrial settings; chemicals, vibration, and loud noises.
- Safety shoes, safety glasses, chemical resistant gloves and bump caps for this position must be worn on the production floor. Other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
- Jobs on the production floor require a minimum 40-hour workweek. Overtime may be required.
- The pace of work is steady and fast.
- Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- This position requires sufficient vision to see details at close range, so the person can pass an inspection test of finished parts and components.
