Material Handler

Position Summary

The Material Handler I supports manufacturing and packaging operations by safely handling and disposing of wood crates, maintaining accurate KB inventory, operating forklifts to deliver parts and assemblies during crating, and verifying issued materials against work orders. This role is critical to maintaining safe, efficient, and organized production workflows within a manufacturing environment.

Hourly Pay Range: $21.68–$26.06

• Safely open and break down incoming wood crates
• Manage full-cycle wood recycling and disposal
• Coordinate trailer loading
• Maintain a clean and organized crate disposal area

• Inspect and verify KB inventory accuracy
• Create part demand requests as needed
• Issue materials to production teams

• Operate forklifts to deliver parts and assemblies during crating processes
• Support packaging and assembly teams with material movement and logistics

• Verify and count issued parts
• Ensure quantities and part numbers match work order requirements

• Perform other duties as assigned to support manufacturing and warehouse operations

• Forklift certification preferred or ability to pass forklift certification test
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
• Knowledge of material handling safety procedures

• Standard business hours with some variation based on operational needs

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to bend, kneel, walk, and stand for extended periods
• Ability to reach above head level and below knee level
