Lead Press Operator - 1st Shift

Eaton’s ISVEHEMB division is currently seeking a Lead Press Operator –1st Shift to join our team at Carol Stream. The hourly rate is $25–$34 per hour. Core hours for this role are 5:00am –3:30pm.

• Support and, at times, lead the Tier1 production meeting.
• Understand and respond to report boards and files.
• Define, with or without the production supervisor, the production plan and shift balancing.
• Suggest training plans for team members.
• Record basic problem‑solving information for deeper analysis.
• Be accountable for the production results in your area.
• Participate in problem‑solving root cause analysis.
• Ensure understanding and respect of standards at the press in your area (WRA, LPA, SPA, 5S…).
• Support training.
• Communicate with team members and support teams.
• Participate in leadership training.
• Review work instructions and suggest updates.
• Check and provide all process components like lubricants and packaging, etc.
• Visually inspect production for burrs, scrapes, rust and other defects.
• Identify and locate proper material thickness and gauge.
• Check production against samples or prints using basic measuring equipment such as gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Achieve production schedules.
• Comply with 5S.
• Have a great sense of urgency.

Required (Basic)

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Leadership experience.
• At least six months of prior experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Exposure to press operating.
• Previous experience with the department including processes, equipment and our PLEX system.

• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal English.
• Frequently required to stand; moderately required to walk; occasionally required to lift up to 40pounds.
• Noise level in plant is moderate; hearing protection is required in all areas.
• Safety glasses and safety‑toed shoes are required in the manufacturing areas.
• Ability to comply with all safety protocols.
• No relocation benefit is offered; only candidates residing within 50miles will be considered unless they are active‑duty military.
