Austemper Furnace Operator 3rd Shift

Metals Technology Corporation, a Certified Commercial Heat Treater located in Carol Stream, Illinois, has been serving the heat-treating needs of companies throughout Illinois for over 50 years. During that time, we have earned an excellent reputation as a provider of high-quality heat-treating and outstanding service. We are seeking an Austemper Furnace Operator.

Furnace Operators use equipment to complete processes such as carburizing and carbonitriding, normalizing, ferritic nitrocarburizing, and tempering. They must interpret information from work orders, order specifications, production management software, and other written or verbal instructions to accomplish work assignments. Reliability is the key to succeeding in this position.

The hours for this position are 11:00 pm – 7:00 am. Overtime is required when available.

• Promotes safety and good housekeeping practice while working safely and following all safety rules and procedures
• Responsible for following production schedules
• Operates heat-treating equipment
• Loads and Unloads furnaces
• Maintaining required heat treatment records
• Adhering to strict parts specifications
• Bring any irregularities or issues regarding processes or equipment to a shift supervisor or management.
• Additional assignments as needed

• Must be able to work in a typical heat‑treating environment
• Must adhere to your work schedule
• Must use common sense and be capable of making informed decisions
• Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing in English
• Must be comfortable using a computer
