Carol Stream, Illinois, USA – NTA Precision Axle Corporation is hiring a Forging Operator for the first shift. The role involves forging and trimming automotive hub bearing parts as part of a press team.
Starting Wage: $21.00 per hour. Second shift differential $2.00 per hour, third shift differential $3.00 per hour.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Work in a two‑to‑three person team to forge and trim parts for use in automobile hub bearing units.
- Operate and adjust forge press according to guidelines and in a safe manner.
- Adjust die and tooling sets.
- Accurately complete quality and production control documents.
- Use gauges to accurately measure and verify proper part dimensions.
- Communicate abnormalities on all production operations to Supervisor.
- Follow all PPE rules and company policies.
- Practice 5S in work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Experience in manufacturing and/or mechanically inclined.
- Knowledge of basic machine operation / controls.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to operate line equipment.
- Ability to recognize quality issues.
- Able to create, follow and document written plans.
- Proficient in basic shop mathematics.

Protective gear such as bump caps, steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection are required in the forging department.
PhysicalDemands
- May be exposed to moving mechanical parts; hazards common to industrial settings; chemicals, vibration, and loud noises.
- Safety shoes, safety glasses, chemical‑resistant gloves and bump caps required on the production floor. Other PPE may be required.
- Jobs on the production floor require a minimum 40‑hour work week. Overtime may be required.
- Work pace is steady and fast.
- Employee regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
- Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires sufficient vision to see details at close range, to pass an inspection test of finished parts and components.
