SummaryMachine Operator responsible for operating CNC lathe and/or milling machine. Loads and inspects parts, changes offsets and tooling.
CompensationStarting wage: $19.00 per hour.
Shift differentials: $2.00 per hour for 2nd shift, $3.00 per hour for 3rd shift. Pay may vary based on job‑related knowledge, experience, business needs, location and internal equity.
Essential Job Functions- Machine operations – check specs, load/unload production lines.
- Utilize measurement tools such as pre‑set gauges to verify quality of production.
- Perform visual inspection of parts.
- Make necessary offsets.
- Change/adjust production tooling.
- Complete forms recording production results.
- Daily preventative maintenance: remove and dispose of chips/shavings, replenish fluids/lubricants.
- Comply with ISO 16949 & 14001 requirements, safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas – perform 5S cleaning responsibilities.
- Read job instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; demonstrated ability to add and subtract decimals with high accuracy.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to automated or robotic equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret part drawings and make decisions regarding part quality and offset changes.
- Experience in machining and using measuring tools such as drop indicators, dial bore gauges, plug gauges, and fixture‑related pin gauges.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment running multiple production lines, prioritizing tasks to maximize efficiency.
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance, work overtime and weekends as needed.
The work environment is moderate in noise. Steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection are required. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
Physical Demands- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, hazards common in industrial settings, chemicals, vibration and loud noises.
- PPE must include safety shoes, glasses, chemical‑resistant gloves and bump caps; additional PPE may be required.
- Requires a 40‑hour workweek; overtime may be required. Work pace is steady and fast.
- Employee must regularly stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
- Must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
