Blend and Press Operator

We’re seeking a motivated individual to join our team. This 1st shift position in our Carol Stream, IL manufacturing facility is responsible for weighing, blending and pressing small amounts of vitrified materials by following specific job instruction. Job Responsibility

The following duties will be performed by the successful candidate:

• Blend vitrified materials by following specific job instruction. This involves using small scales and manual mixing tools.
• Weigh blended vitrified powders for pressing. Load the powder into mold. Cold press the powder into a segment. Remove segment from mold.
• Measurement inspection of the segment using precision measuring instruments, verifying production measurements against customer blueprint measurements.
• Maintain accurate records and logs of processes, materials, production time, inventory and results utilizing computerized system - Ignition.
• Read, review and discuss work orders, instructions or blueprints.
• Obtain material necessary to complete order
• Maintain clean and orderly work area according to 5S program.
• Follow all safety procedures, including the wearing of required protective equipment.
• Adhere to the Quality Policy and Standard Operating Procedures.

Job Skills and Requirement

The successful candidate should possess the following skills:

• A high school diploma or its equivalency
• Skill and knowledge necessary in utilizing shop math, a calculator and measuring instruments
• Knowledge of computer and/or computerized production tracking system preferred
• Must possess ability to read and interpret work orders, charts, and measuring instruments as pertaining to weighing and blending powder and bond
• Must be able to follow written and verbal directions/instructions
• Practice safe work habits, maintain equipment and work areas in a 5S environment
• Ability to work effectively with others in a team environment
• Ability to use variety of hand tools and power tools
