Pay Rate: $18.50/HR PLUS $1 Shift Differential
Shift: Second Shift: M-F
Position Summary:
The Rework Grinder is responsible for performing rough and final finishing on metal parts and surfaces using hand grinders and other finishing equipment. This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality by removing defects, excess weld material, burrs, and surface imperfections while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform rough and final finishing of metal parts and surfaces using hand grinders.
- Remove weld splatter, burrs, scratches, and other surface defects.
- Load and position work pieces onto work surfaces.
- Inspect finished products for defects using visual inspection, touch, and measurement tools.
- Verify dimensions and quality standards through required measurements.
- Select appropriate abrasive belts, wheels, and discs based on material specifications.
- Review technical work instructions and process cards to determine grinding requirements.
- Replace worn abrasive discs, wheels, and belts as needed.
- Tag, code, and certify finished products according to company procedures.
- Place completed work pieces into designated containers.
- Report equipment malfunctions or operating concerns to supervision.
- Follow all standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, speak, and understand basic English to comply with safety, PPE, and work instruction requirements.
- Manufacturing, grinding, metal finishing, or production experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to safely use hand grinders and measuring tools.
- Willingness to cross-train in other areas of production.
- Ability to work required overtime as needed.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift and carry up to 20-25 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, vibration, oil, and varying temperatures.

- Follow required PPE guidelines at all times.
- Support and maintain 5S workplace standards.
- Adhere to IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 quality and environmental standards.
