Quality Engineer

Eaton’s IS VEH EMB division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71,000 - $105,000 per year. Please note that salary information is a general guideline only.

Eaton announced on June 11, 2026 the intent to combine its Mobility Group with a new company. Compensation and benefits offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. • Ensure outgoing quality of all products to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations, including outgoing inspection, first article & PPAP inspection approvals, segregation, identification, re-work, and disposition of non-conforming parts and materials.
• Direct end-of-line inspections and ensure manufacturing and supporting documentation is complete; perform daily quality engineering and testing functions.
• Ensure facility complies with IATF and ISO‑9001 certifications.
• Manage external corrective actions received from customers, and provide internal communications pertaining to all customer corrective actions.
• Handle customer concern notifications and coordinate internal actions to resolve concerns.
• Lead customer‑requested audits: conduct audits, coordinate internally to meet requirements, communicate results, assign owners to corrective actions identified during the audit.
• Manage First Article Inspection requests: prioritize, coordinate with external inspection providers, maintain visual management tracking.
• Generate PPAP submission packages and control plans that meet customer expectations.
• Process and dispute returned merchandise authorizations.
• Perform statistical review of product data for issues, trends and improvements.
• Travel as required to support customers.
• Continuously look for ways to improve the customer experience.
• Support quality activities as requested.

• Required:
  
  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Required:
  
  2+ years in quality within a manufacturing environment.
• Required:
  
  No relocation benefit offered; candidates must reside within 50 miles of Carol Stream, IL or be active duty military exempt from the geographic constraint.
• Preferred:
  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Preferred:
  Ability to communicate and interact with engineering, tool room and production to promote specification compliance and customer PPAP submission.
• Preferred:
  Manufacturing environment experience.
• Preferred:
  Skills in analyzing quality data to identify trends and areas for improvement; proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Minitab.
• Preferred:
  Flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and new challenges; openness to learn new tools and methodologies.

• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Good English communication skills both written and oral.
• Ability to follow direction while displaying cooperative and positive behavior with co‑workers.
• Problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to comply with all safety protocols; hearing protection required in posted areas due to moderate noise level.
