Position Summary:

The Quality Director implements policies and standardizes work procedures to ensure a world class quality environment. Responsible for planning, implementing, and executing the Quality Assurance strategy. The Quality Director is responsible for providing direction and leadership for all levels of the organization maintaining the ISO 9001 and supporting ISO
14001 and ISO 45001 management systems. Collaborating daily with the organization to ensure Antunes’ remains an effective, efficient, and productive quality focused work environment.

• Works with Operations, Product Development, Research & Development, Supply Chain, Technical Service, Sales, Suzhou, and Chennai to improve quality performance as measured by First Pass Yield (FPY), COPQ and warranty/service cost.
• Develops, implements, automates, publishes, and maintains thorough inspection reports from incoming to final inspection, including roving, audits, etc.
• Assists in the implementation of processes and tools; monitors and assesses current quality performance to identify and assess opportunities for performance and process improvements.
• Proactively leads root cause/counter-measure resolution of quality performance issues through usage of 8D methodology; improve in-process inspection standards through development and/or verification of testing methods.
• Drives ever-improving results by leveraging AJA tools, consulting skills, and change management process.
• Benchmarks and incorporate best practices for Quality.
• Requires international travel up to 15%, primarily to China and India manufacturing facilities.
• Assures adherence to product compliance with federal and state regulations and agencies such as CE, NSF, ETL, UL, CSA, FM, etc.
• Provides leadership and oversight to the quality, maintenance, and custodial teams.
• Ensures compliance with relevant external standards (e.g., EPA, OSHA, In-country compliance, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001).
• Creates and implements product and process inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections. Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and relevant topics.
• Action and detail oriented, strong customer service skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings and associated Corrective Actions.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by President.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Quality required. Master’s Degree Preferred.
• Experience in statistical analyses, DOE, measurement system analysis; reliability statistics; accurate assessment of key business metrics and situations in a management position; collaborating with teams to improve quality performance; consulting with finance on warranty cost reduction preferred.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Project management background and familiarity with CE, CSA, FDA, NSF, UL 197 in regards to Food safety for food service equipment and filtration of drinking water.
• ASQ certifications in one or more of the following areas: ASQ Certified Manager of Quality Organizational Excellence (CMQ QE),) or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE),) and Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt
• Must work well independently, make sound business decisions, recognize individual performance related issues and train team members.
• Must be able to analyze components failures, strong team player, committed to company values, proficient with MS Office.
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques required.
