The Formulation Scientist II independently plans, organizes, and executes Solutions formulation from concept through commercialization. This role serves as the primary technical contact for assigned customers, manages product development activities, and collaborates across functions to deliver customer and business objectives. The position operates with moderate autonomy and contributes to continues improvement of formulations, processes and customer relationships.

• Design formulations and create technical documents.
• Will be responsible for managing technical communications and projects with assigned customers.
• Work with the R&D sample lab on any scale up projects that they may have.
• Be more involved with the internal day-to-day processes including ECOs and sub swaps.
• Be able to travel to customer visits unsupervised.
• Start to take on and lead key global customer accounts.
• Be responsible for investigating any CAPAs/customer returns involving their formulations.
• Be available to present to groups of people or be able to discuss R&D’s role in Solutions with new hires in Prinova.
• Will complete other duties as assigned

• Either 5+ years experience at a blending company in a science related field OR
• 2+ years experience in the fortification development industry in a science related field OR
• 2+ years experience as a Formulation Scientist
• BS/BA Degree – Food Science/Nutrition/Chemistry preferred (but at least a AS/AA in a science or mathematics field or Associates in a science field with experience)
• Either have process flow and design experience or have production blending experience (both is preferred).

• Have a working understanding of Microsoft excel and word.
• Have experience with reading and working with work orders and technical documentation.
• Must have competence in analytical or mathematical calculations, especially those in stoichiometric and/or scale-up processes.
• Be able to use wet chemical lab equipment including but not limited to lab scales.
• Be able to manage small projects by themselves or with a team
