This is a full‑time entry‑level position with the opportunity for advancement and additional pay. Restoration Technicians work in teams to perform restoration services for properties that have been damaged by water, fire, smoke, odor, and other hazards. They also perform cleaning services such as cleaning of carpet, upholstery, and tile.
Technicians receive on‑the‑job training in the processes of carpet, tile and rug cleaning and water, fire, and odor restoration including structural drying, contents drying, precision demolition and salvage; smoke, soot, and odor removal; and mold remediation. This position can be physically demanding at times so employees may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, fumes or airborne particles, loud machinery, and/or confined spaces.
The opportunity for overnight travel and extra income could be provided during large storm events. Disasters occur any time of day so this position requires some rotating on‑call/after‑hours/weekend/overtime work.
Responsibilities- Responding to job sites within a specified timeline
- Driving company vehicles
- Loading, unloading, and operating company drying and cleaning equipment
- Moving and carrying furniture, wet carpeting, wet carpet pad, sheet rock, insulation, or tack strip
- Meeting and communicating with homeowners and implementing restoration and or cleaning processes
- Performing moderate demolition that may be required as part of the restoration process
- Preparing reports documenting work performed
- Maintaining company facilities, equipment, and vehicles including cleaning, repairing, stocking, organizing, and preparing maintenance documentation
- Utilizing handheld smart devices to explain and attain all paperwork and photos necessary for documenting work
- Sometimes inspecting jobsites and giving regular progress updates to customers and adjusters
- Performing any other duties as assigned
- Must have and maintain a valid vehicle driver’s license, reliable transportation and telephone, and be insurable
- Must have the ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds without assistance as the job requires walking, standing, stooping, bending, lifting, climbing ladders, and moving heavy objects
- Completion of High School Diploma or GED
- Required technology skills: typing, scanning, emailing, attaching files, and utilizing company required software; also a serviceable understanding of handheld smart devices and an aptitude for learning new software
- Basic mathematical calculations such as totaling invoices, calculating tax, and measuring square footage
- Job requires some rotating on‑call, overtime, after‑hours, and weekend work
- Must be able to pass a full background check and drug testing, which will be completed prior to employment
- Supervisory experience is a plus
- Restoration and/or carpet cleaning experience is a plus but not required
- IICRC Carpet Cleaning/Fire/Water Certification is a plus but not required
- Experience with Construction, Maintenance, Insurance Adjusting, or Xactimate estimating software is a plus but not required
- Associate’s degrees in Construction & Maintenance Technologies, Computer‑Aided Drafting, Industrial Production Technologies, or General Studies are beneficial but not required
- On‑the‑job training, company‑issued uniforms, potential on‑call bonuses, potential growth within the company, available overtime
Compensation: $32,000.00 – $55,000.00 per year.
