Location:

Carol Stream, IL

Shift: 1st Shift (Typical start times between 6:00 AM and 8:00 AM)

Pay: $26.00–$42.00 per hour, depending on experience

Other Compensation:

Position Summary:

Eastridge Workforce Solutions is partnering with a well-established manufacturing organization seeking an experienced Electro/Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join its maintenance team on first shift. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical production equipment while supporting equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and improving overall manufacturing performance. The ideal candidate enjoys diagnosing complex equipment issues and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems including 480V three-phase motors, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, relays, and control panels
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled production equipment and verify PLC inputs and outputs
  • Perform mechanical repairs involving conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, chains, belts, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation
  • Complete preventive and predictive maintenance activities on production equipment
  • Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns while identifying and correcting root causes
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and continuous improvement projects
  • Support calibration, testing, and startup of production equipment
  • Accurately document maintenance work orders, repairs, and parts usage
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, safety procedures, and manufacturing quality standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance work area
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and operations teams to maximize equipment uptime
  • Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting experience with 480V three-phase equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting VFDs, motor controls, sensors, relays, and industrial electrical systems
  • Mechanical maintenance experience with conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, bearings, gearboxes, and power transmission equipment
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to safely work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industrial Maintenance, Electromechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics certification
  • Welding and fabrication experience
  • Experience supporting high-speed production equipment
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs
  • Manufacturing maintenance experience in packaging, printing, converting, plastics, or similar industrial environments

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach
  • Regularly lift up to 25 pounds
  • Frequently lift up to 75 pounds
  • Work around moving machinery, industrial equipment, noise, dust, and airborne particles
  • Wear required personal protective equipment including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toe footwear
