Manufacturing Production, Operations Engineer
Overview
Avantor is seeking an Operator at the NuSil site in Carpinteria, CA. This full‑time position involves collaboration with a diverse team and supports manufacturing in healthcare, aerospace, and biotech industries.
Qualifications- High School diploma or GED (preferred)
- 1–2 years of experience in packaging or distribution
- Experience in a chemical plant (preferred)
- Understanding/familiarity with cGMP and RCRA training (preferred)
- No certifications required
- Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements
- Ensure production lines are set up and running in accordance with work orders and schedules
- Understand line and pump configuration; clean, inspect lines; perform line changeovers as needed
- Perform pre‑start‑up inspections on equipment and address any failure checks
- Maintain manufacturing areas clean and organized
- Multi‑task and be flexible in dynamic environments
- Keep accurate production records
- Collaborate with supervisors and maintenance personnel to resolve equipment set‑up and operations issues
- Work with the QA department to understand, recognize, and rectify quality issues; stop the line and notify QA of contamination events if necessary
- Perform duties of both a packaging operator and material handler
- Manage hazardous and universal waste according to local, state, and federal regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned, with or without accommodation
- Demonstrate mechanical ability, critical decision‑making skills, creativity, and multi‑tasking ability
The expected pre‑tax pay for this position is $43,500.00 – $69,575.00. Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
