Avantor is seeking an Operator at our NuSil site. This is a full-time position based in Carpinteria, CA. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a diverse team in a phenomenal environment. NuSil supports the healthcare, aerospace, and biotech industries. Second Shift: 2nd shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
What we’re looking for- Education:
High School diploma or GED preferred. - Experience:
1-2 years of experience in packaging or distribution. - Certification(s):
None required. - Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a chemical plant. - Understanding/familiarity with cGMP and RCRA training.
- Maintain equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
- Comply with company standards and OSHA requirements.
- Ensure the lines are set up and running to the production schedule in accordance with work orders.
- Understand line and pump configuration; clean and inspect lines; and perform line changeovers as needed.
- Perform prestart-up inspection on equipment and ensure that items that have failed checks are addressed.
- Maintain manufacturing areas clean and organized.
- Willing to multitask and be flexible.
- Keep accurate production records.
- Collaborate with Supervisors and Maintenance Personnel to resolve equipment setup and operations issues.
- Work with the QA Dept to understand, recognize, and rectify quality issues.
- Has the authority and responsibility to stop the line and notify QA of a contamination event.
- Ability to perform the duties of both a packaging operator and material handler.
- Manage hazardous and universal waste in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
- Demonstrate mechanical ability.
- Critical decision‑making skills, creativity, and multitasking ability.
