Brown & Brown is seeking a Commercial Account Manager to join our growing team in Carpinteria, CA
!
The Commercial Account Manager supports the Producer by applying advanced technical insurance expertise and operating with a high degree of autonomy. This role exercises independent judgment in organizing, prioritizing, and managing work for an assigned portion of the book of business, and provides day‑to‑day direction to Technical Assistants. The Commercial Account Manager partners closely with the Producer to develop new business opportunities, deliver high‑level renewal support, and participate in client‑facing renewal and new business meetings.
The role also contributes to strategic initiatives by preparing midyear coverage reviews and creating proactive communications that enhance the client experience and strengthen account retention.
- Oversee assigned book of business in accordance with Brown & Brown policies and procedures.
- Participate in Monthly New/Renewal Meetings
- Renewal Processing
- New Business Processing
- Coordinate mail processing and handle all client, company, and Producer requests (receive – coordinate – process).
- Handle routine incoming calls in the Producer’s absence and answer questions regarding client coverage and limits.
- Manage all accounting requests and claims (receive – coordinate – process).
- Perform policy checking, including preparation and review of the Schedule of Insurance and final audits.
- Receive, review, and coordinate certificates of insurance and order MVRs as needed.
- Review the Suspense list and identify required actions for the TA.
- Follow up with the Producer to ensure the Insurance Coverage Review Checklist is completed timely and inform the Producer of unusual account activity.
- Train new TAs on policies and procedures.
- Active P&C License
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- 1-3 years’ experience in similar position (preferred)
- High School Diploma
- Proficient with MS Office Suite
- Exceptional telephone demeanor
$90,000 - $100,000 Annual
The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
