Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self‑starters and those committed to doing what is best for our customers. Brown & Brown is seeking a Commercial Lines Account Manager to join our growing team in Carpinteria, CA.
Responsibilities- Oversee assigned book of business in accordance with Brown & Brown policies and procedures.
- Organize, prioritize, and manage work for an assigned portion of the book of business, providing day‑to‑day direction to Technical Assistants.
- Partner closely with the Producer to develop new business opportunities, deliver high‑level renewal support, and participate in client‑facing renewal and new business meetings.
- Prepare midyear coverage reviews and create proactive communications that enhance the client experience and strengthen account retention.
- Review renewal submissions, coordinate underwriting information requests, and submit quotes.
- Create proposals, initiate renewals (bind, binders, invoice, bind letter), and manage policy processing.
- Handle new business processing: draft applications, submit for quotes, prepare proposals, and manage binders.
- Coordinate mail processing and client, company, and Producer requests (receive, coordinate, process).
- Handle routine calls in the Producer’s absence and answer questions regarding client coverage and limits.
- Manage accounting requests and claims.
- Perform policy checking, including preparation and review of the Schedule of Insurance and final audits.
- Coordinate certificates of insurance, order MVRs as needed, and review the Suspense list.
- Follow up with the Producer to ensure the Insurance Coverage Review Checklist is completed timely.
- Train new Technical Assistants on policies and procedures.
- Active P&C License.
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred);
High School Diploma acceptable. - 1‑3 years’ experience in a similar position (preferred). A high school diploma and any relevant experience is also acceptable.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Exceptional telephone demeanor and strong client service skills.
$90,000.00 – $ annually.
