We’re looking for a detail‑oriented, motivated IT and cybersecurity professional to join our fast‑moving team at Kraken Kinetics. This role ensures that Kraken’s physical and digital IT assets remain secure, compliant, and fully operational. The position involves close coordination with the MSCP to execute CMMC policies, manage endpoints, and implement cybersecurity controls across all company systems.
Key Responsibilities Cybersecurity Compliance & Coordination- Serve as the company’s interface with the Managed Security and Compliance Partner, facilitating coordination for compliance activities, incident response, and system configuration updates.
- Support MSCP and oversee implementation of CMMC Level 2 and NIST 800‑171 cybersecurity controls.
- Serve as the company’s Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO); coordinate with MSCP and compliance team on CMMC Level 2 standards regarding creating, implementing, and maintaining cybersecurity policies, procedures, and plans, such as System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and related documentation.
- Maintain robust internal controls, evidence repositories, and audit processes to demonstrate ongoing adherence to certification requirements.
- Enforce and maintain system and device configurations in accordance with the MSCP’s baseline documentation.
- Support vulnerability management, incident response readiness, and user access reviews.
- Support the management of the company’s Microsoft 365 GCC High tenant, including:
- Identity and Access Management (Entra , MFA, Conditional Access)
- Device compliance and endpoint security via Intune and Defender for Endpoint
- Data protection and sensitivity labeling using Microsoft Purview
- Coordinate with the MSCP on tenant health, alerts, and policy adjustments.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and role‑based access controls in accordance with CMMC standards.
- Manage all company IT hardware and network systems, including routers, switches, firewalls, access points, and VPN connections.
- Oversee issuance, maintenance, and lifecycle management of all company‑owned devices (Windows, macOS, and iOS).
- Ensure proper encryption, patching, and security configurations are applied and monitored across endpoints.
- Maintain the official IT asset registry and configuration baselines.
- Support integrations with enterprise systems such as ERP, MRP, and IMS platforms as the company continues to grow and expand its capabilities.
- Provide Tier 1–2 IT support for internal users regarding devices, connectivity, and Microsoft 365 services.
- Train and assist personnel in secure use of GCC High tools (Teams, One Drive, SharePoint, Outlook).
- Support the transition and maintenance of encrypted communication and data exchange platforms.
- Maintain and update IT procedures, records, and quick‑reference documentation.
Required:
- Associate’s degree or higher in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of professional experience in IT support, systems administration, or cybersecurity operations.
