We are a well-established Carrickfergus-based generator installation and maintenance provider, delivering essential power solutions across a wide range of sectors throughout Northern Ireland.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Generator Engineer to join our expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys varied field‑based engineering work, problem‑solving, and being part of a business that genuinely values technical expertise and progression.
Whether your background is in electrical engineering, heavy vehicle maintenance, diesel fitting, or similar disciplines
, this role offers the chance to build specialist skills within the generator industry.
- Installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of diesel generator sets across Northern Ireland
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on customer sites
- Fault finding, diagnostics, testing, and remedial repairs on generator systems
- Emergency call‑out support on a rota basis
- Planning spares and parts requirements for upcoming work
- Load bank testing of generator systems (electrical focus)
- Engine servicing and mechanical repairs (mechanical focus)
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation or equivalent (electrical route)
or - NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent (mechanical route)
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong hands‑on engineering and fault‑finding experience
- Experience with diesel generator systems
- Fault finding, commissioning, or diagnostics on generator sets
- Knowledge of control panels and electrical systems
- Experience with engines such as Perkins, Caterpillar, MTU, Volvo, Mitsubishi, or Cummins
- Exposure to fuel systems, exhaust systems, or system modifications
- Competitive salary (negotiable depending on experience)
