Geoff Castles Boiler Services Ltd is a leading industrial and commercial boiler and mechanical engineering company operating throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Welder / Pipe Fitter Engineer to join our team.
This is a varied, hands-on engineering role working across industrial and commercial sites, with a particular focus on pipework fabrication, welding, boiler installations, steam systems, repairs and modifications .
The RoleThe successful candidate will work as part of our engineering and project teams, carrying out a range of welding, pipe fitting and mechanical installation work.
Typical work will include:
- TIG and MMA/Stick welding
- Fabrication and installation of industrial pipework
- Fitting and welding carbon steel and stainless-steel pipework
- Steam and condensate pipework
- Gas, heating and process pipework
- Boiler room pipework installations and modifications
- Boiler and plant repairs
- Pipework alterations and replacement
- Installation of valves, flanges, strainers and associated components
- Fabrication of pipe supports, brackets and associated steelwork
- Working from engineering drawings, sketches and measurements
- Welding repairs and modifications to existing plant
- Working on pressure systems and industrial equipment
- Working alongside our boiler engineers, commissioning engineers and project teams
- Travelling to customer sites throughout Northern Ireland and occasionally the Republic of Ireland
The work is varied, with projects ranging from small boiler-room modifications and repairs through to larger industrial boiler, steam and pipework installation projects .
About YouWe are looking for an experienced Welder / Pipe Fitter who can demonstrate:
- Strong TIG and MMA/Stick welding experience
- Good pipe fitting and fabrication skills
- Experience working with a range of materials, particularly carbon steel and stainless steel
- Proven experience fitting and welding pipework
- Ability to read and understand engineering and isometric drawings
- Good knowledge of pipework fittings, valves and flanges
- Experience working on industrial or commercial sites
- A high standard of workmanship
- A practical and positive approach to problem solving
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel as required
Experience in industrial boilers, steam systems, process pipework, heating systems or mechanical engineering would be highly advantageous.
Welding QualificationsRelevant welding qualifications and coded welding tickets would be advantageous, particularly TIG and MMA .
However, we are also interested in experienced welders who can demonstrate strong practical welding ability and a proven background in industrial pipework.
