Chief Medical Officer - Carroll, IA

The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will report to and work closely with the President & CEO, while partnering with senior leaders and the Board of Directors to develop and execute organizational strategy. This executive will play a key role in shaping policies, advancing quality initiatives, and ensuring alignment with St. Anthony’s short‑ and long‑term goals. The CMO will also provide leadership to employed, contracted, and aligned medical staff, as well as contracted medical directors.

• Lead the development and implementation of systems and processes that promote the highest standards of quality, patient safety, and evidence‑based care.
• Oversee, guide, and support medical management decisions to ensure optimal patient outcomes while aligning with organizational objectives.
• Conduct routine chart reviews and audits, including spot checks, as part of ongoing Quality Assurance initiatives.
• Engage with medical staff on a regular, ongoing basis to identify opportunities for clinical improvement.
• Cultivate strong, collegial relationships with physicians and clinical team members to enhance engagement and support high‑quality patient care.
• Advise Administration on clinical strategy and recommend solutions to medical and operational challenges.
• Provide physician leadership to advance clinical outcomes, champion quality initiatives, and encourage provider participation in developing patient care policies, protocols, and procedures.

• Valid Iowa MD/DO license with no history of disciplinary action; board‑certified or board‑eligible in area of specialty.
• Current DEA license.
• Minimum of five years of healthcare experience required.

This role includes 50–60% clinical practice
, with the remainder dedicated to CMO and administrative responsibilities
