Rate: $30/Hour

Engagement: Ticket-Based (No Guaranteed Hours)

We are hiring a skilled Field Engineer / Network Engineer / IT Support Engineer for onsite dispatch-based assignments in San Diego, CA. This role focuses on Wireless LAN Controller (WLC) deployments
, requiring strong hands‑on experience in network installation, structured cabling, and field support
.

• Perform rack & stack installations and structured cabling
• Install Cisco 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers (2 per site)
• Execute fiber optic connectivity
  , SFP installation
  , and patching (fiber & Ethernet)
• Handle power/network cross‑connections and validate switch ports
• Stage equipment prior to cutover activities
• Support remote teams during cutover and validate deployments
• Troubleshoot onsite connectivity and physical layer issues
• Decommission legacy WLC devices and manage packing & return logistics

• Onsite dispatch / on‑demand assignments (ticket‑based)
• Typically 1 site per day (small to medium sites)
• Weekend availability required for larger deployments

• Strong hands‑on experience in network deployment & field support
• Experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC 9800 preferred)
• Expertise in fiber optics, SFP modules, and structured cabling
• Knowledge of rack & stack and switch port validation
• Understanding of LAN/WAN networking fundamentals
• Ability to work independently in onsite environments

Must Have:

• Rack mounting tools

• SFP modules
• Fiber patch cords
• Ethernet patch cables

• Experience in datacenter support, onsite IT deployments, or network rollouts
• Comfortable with a flexible, dispatch‑based work model
