Job Overview
Mechanical Assembler I is an entry‑level position focused on deburring and air grinding operations. The role requires basic knowledge of deburring, cleaning, and using hand and electrical tools under the supervision of a senior Mechanical Assembler with Deburring Certification (level II or above). The operator interprets blueprints, performs daily equipment checks, records production data, contributes to COPQ processes, and follows safety, quality, and continuous improvement procedures.
External candidates will receive a $1,000 sign‑on bonus.
What You Will Do- Maintain and operate deburring and air grinding tools and speed lathes.
- Read blueprints to verify work completion.
- Operate and conduct daily/weekly equipment checks.
- Accurately participate in the COPQ process, using the ACE portal for issues or process improvement.
- Accurately complete production documentation and perform necessary labor transactions.
- Operate hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment.
- Work under direct supervision, following established procedures on routine work and receiving instructions for new assignments.
- Apply basic job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.
- Recognize the need for judgment in semi‑routine tasks.
- Support and follow all rules, guidelines, and standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as established by leadership.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement and safety‑related activities.
- Work 40+ hours over the scheduled shift to meet business needs.
- Complete all other duties as assigned, including extended shifts or overtime as required.
- Operate a 3rd‑shift schedule:
Monday‑Friday, 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. Training occurs first 3–6 months, Monday‑Friday, 6 a.m. – 2 p.m.

- High school diploma or equivalent, or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
- Ability to read and understand prints.
- Basic computer proficiency (e‑mail, print documents, internet) and ability to learn computer use for accessing prints and work instructions.
- Basic shop math including knowledge of geometric tolerances.
- Basic proficiency in identifying, analyzing, and resolving problems.
- Ability to use and learn various inspection tools needed for the job.
- Ability to use tools such as ball burrs, flame bits, etc.
- Ability to learn and understand deburring operations.
- Effective communication with all levels of employees and management.
