Production QC/QA, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
What You Will Do
- Maintain and operate deburring and air grinding tools and speed lathes.
- Read blueprints to verify work is completed correctly.
- Operate and perform daily/weekly checks on equipment.
- Accurately participate in the COPQ process and utilize the ACE portal for issues or process improvement.
- Accurately complete production documentation and perform necessary labor transactions.
- Operate hand tools, electrical tools, hand cutters, measuring equipment, and light equipment.
- Work under direct supervision, following established procedures for routine work and requiring instructions on new assignments.
- Apply basic job skills and company policies to complete assigned tasks, recognizing the need for judgment when appropriate.
- Support and follow all EHS, Quality, and CI rules, guidelines, and standards as set by leadership.
- Actively participate in the Continuous Improvement process and safety‑related activities.
Schedule:
2nd shift Monday through Friday 3:30pm–12:00am. Training occurs Monday through Friday 7am–3:30pm for the first 2‑3 months. All other duties, including extended shifts and overtime, are required as needed.
This entry‑level position provides a foundation in deburring and air grinding operations and offers a career growth path with Collins Aerospace.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent, or vocational/technical education in a related discipline.
- Ability to read and understand prints.
- Basic computer proficiency (e‑mail, print documents, internet) and ability to learn to access work instructions.
- Basic shop math, including knowledge of geometric tolerances.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems.
- Willingness to learn various inspection tools and deburring equipment (ball burr, flame bit, etc.).
- Effective communication with all levels of employees and management.
- Preferred:
Familiarity with basic hand tools, electrical tools, and measuring equipment.
