How will you power what’s possible?

The position will participate in the execution of corporate-wide accounting initiatives in support of the company’s objectives. It will support the accounting for cash, assist in the preparation of journal entries, prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations, and assist with various other month-end close tasks, quarterly reporting, and year-end audit deliverables as needed. Finally, the position will support the accounting close processes and related reconciliations for various corporate functional departments.

• Reconcile all cash accounts and, with Treasury and other teams, perform all cash-related tasks
• Manage accounting activities involving foreign currency transactions, including revaluations and analysis to ensure accurate reporting
• Utilize Blackline for account reconciliations, task management, and month end close activities; ensure compliance with Southwire’s reconciliation standards.
• Support and assist accounting and finance teams in researching and analyzing account balances and activity
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements
• Complete journal entries timely and accurately for month end close
• Maintain accurate and timely review and reconciliation of key general ledger accounts
• Involvement in special projects as required for process improvement and efficiency
• Capable of working in a timeline driven environment while providing accurate information
• Assist business leadership in the preparation and management of annual departmental budgets
• Conduct monthly reviews of account reconciliations in compliance with the Southwire Account Reconciliation policy
• Support the understanding and compliance with GAAP and/or IFRS accounting standards framework and Southwire internal control procedures and practices

Licenses/Certifications:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) a plus

Accounting and Finance experience within a multi-billion-dollar organization

Strong broad-based knowledge and experience in accounting, financial reporting, and accounting systems

Proven problem-solving and analytical skills coupled with a rigorous decision-making process

Ability to identify and initiate process improvement to maximize efficiency through projects

Highly collaborative personality who can thrive in a hands-on environment

Ability to work independently and with a team in a challenging environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Earns the respect of peers, subordinates and superiors for their integrity and ethical values
