Job Summary

The Graduate Assistant will actively contribute to the work of the College of Education and GA's BEST Programs by fulfilling the following responsibilities:

  • Assist with event setup, registration, and breakdown for College of Education and Georgia
    ¿ s BEST programs and activities. (10%)
  • Help distribute promotional materials and support marketing efforts for events, initiatives, and student engagement opportunities. (15%)
  • Create and schedule social media content, including photos, videos, and event announcements. (25%)
  • Assist with maintaining, organizing, and inventorying event supplies, promotional items, marketing materials, and storage areas. (20%)
  • Provide support during recruitment events, conferences, campus visits, and community outreach activities. (5%)
  • Assist with basic website, newsletter, and communication updates as assigned. (5%)
  • Collect and organize event attendance records, photos, and feedback information. (5%)
  • Provide general office support, including data entry, filing, copying, and preparing materials for meetings and events. (5%)
  • Serve as a friendly and professional point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. (5%)
  • Perform other support duties and special projects as assigned to assist with the day-to-day operations of Georgia
    ¿ s BEST and the College of Education. (5%)
  • Required Qualifications
    • Be fully admitted to a graduate degree program ase note:
      Students admitted provisionally are not eligible for assistantship positions.
    • Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
    • Be enrolled full-time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
    • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework and remain in good academic standing.
    • Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Candidates preferred in the following programs:
      Marketing, Public Relations, Communications or any education major
    Proposed Salary
    • A monthly stipend of $1,200.00 per month
    • A tuition waiver, reducing your semester rate to $25 plus mandatory fees as long as you are employed in your assistantship.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    • This position requires occasional lifting, moving, and transporting of event supplies, promotional materials, tables, displays, and other equipment for College of Education and Georgia
      ¿ s BEST events.
    • The role also involves periods of standing, walking, bending, and carrying materials during event setup and breakdown.
    • Additionally, the position includes extended periods of sitting while staffing the front desk, providing office support, and completing administrative tasks.
    • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support special events and programs.
