Operations Manager
Job Summary
This position manages Construction Coordinators; works with Discipline Superintendents and Construction Coordinators to identify and resolve problems or issues related to design information, schedule, material deliveries, change management, safety, and quality. The role also manages escalated problems or issues.
Key Responsibilities- Oversees planning, developing, issuing, and progress tracking of all CWPs and IWPs. Participates in all integrated planning sessions associated with IWPs.
- Works with Discipline Superintendents and Construction Coordinators to identify and resolve problems or issues related to design information, schedule, material deliveries, change management, safety, and quality.
- Manages escalated problems or issues.
- Works with responsible Engineering in the interpretation of Requests for Information (RFI).
- Interfaces with Engineering to provide constructible responses.
- Ensures IWP turnover documentation is returned from the field.
- Reviews and monitors contractor/craft Look‑Ahead Schedules for assigned work scope.
- Maintains a daily log for site records.
- Supports commercial recovery process.
- Supervises construction coordinators; manages and coordinates workload, process flow and procedures.
- May lead process improvement initiatives.
- Maintains lesson learned/OFI documentation (Opportunities for Improvement) across discipline construction coordinators.
- May act as the workface planner for basic projects.
- May supervise project field engineering, project controls, document controls and/or quality controls.
- Actively promotes the safety culture.
- Directs Construction Coordinators.
- Interfaces with Superintendent, general foreman, foreman, craft personnel, construction manager and vendor representatives.

Preferred Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; 4‑year degree preferred.
- Typically 6+ years project controls, construction or construction management experience in similar facility construction.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Preferred skills: knowledge of cost control, scheduling, engineering drawings and other documents; ability to set up and perform project controls functions on smaller, less complex projects; ability to do material takeoffs and field estimates; communication skills; organizational skills; safety regulations; ability to deal with ambiguity; problem solving; supervisory skills; contract administration; presentation skills; ability to manage teams and processes; advanced Excel skills.

- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places and uneven areas.
- See and hear naturally or with correction.
- Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
- Required to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure.
- Required to perform repetitive movements.
- May require work above 5 feet in height.
- Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
- Work up to a 12‑hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
- Typical construction site environment: requires working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions.
- Requires working in very hot (above 90°F) or very cold (below 32°F) temperatures and exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc.
- Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions.
- Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
