Job Title: Graduate Education Program Specialist
Location: UWG Recruiting Location
Job Summary: The Graduate Education Specialist will provide student support and program guidance for the Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) programs. This position will provide ongoing communication and academic program guidance for the candidates to ensure they meet specialized requirements for teacher certification.
Responsibilities- Provide ongoing communication and academic program guidance to candidates to ensure they meet requirements for educator certification and/or licensure.
- Advise candidates on the Teacher Education admission process as required by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC).
- Monitor candidate enrollment, registration, retention, and progression toward graduation.
- Manage an estimated caseload of 500 graduate students.
- Recruit prospective candidates by responding to inquiries about master's, specialist, and advanced certification graduate programs.
- Meet with prospective students and participate in recruitment events throughout the year.
- Collaborate with the COE Office of Field Experience regarding requirements for enrollment in field-based experiences and worksite placements.
- Secure mentor teacher credentials from candidates.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. Minimum of five years academic advising experience.
- Master's Degree
- Academic advisement of teacher education candidates at University of West Georgia. Knowledge of Wolf Watch or other similar platforms.
Proposed Salary: $60,000 Annually. Paid on a Monthly Basis.
