Job Summary
The Graduate Assistant will actively contribute to the work of the Department of Alumni and Constituent Engagement by fulfilling the following responsibilities:
- 25% – Oversee alumni participation in Mentorship Program to grow participation and meaningful engagement with alumni
- 30% – Assist with SAA and SAA Board activities and initiatives to foster the Forever West Spirit while connecting current students and alumni
- 10% – Promote and recruit for SAA membership to engage student leaders as future alumni
- 10% – Review SAA programs at other institutions to make recommendations for enhancing or growing our program
- 25% – Assist with Alumni & Friends events execution as a member of the ACE team to foster meaningful engagement with constituents at all levels
- Fully admitted to a graduate degree program at UWG; provisional admission disqualifies
- Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Enrolled full‑time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework and remain in good academic standing
- Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States
- Licensed driver
- Experience planning and hosting events
- Proficient with spreadsheet programs (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets)
- Leadership experience
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable speaking to students individually or as a group, including public speaking
- Experience leading a student organization
- Experience with research and working with data
- Enrolled in College Student Affairs Master’s Program or other relevant program
- Monthly stipend of $1,000.00 per month
- A tuition waiver reducing your semester rate to $25 plus mandatory fees, as long as you are employed in the assistantship
