Job Summary

This role requires strong organizational skills, cultural competency, and a commitment to supporting students in recovery. The responsibilities include the following:

  • Program Coordination:
    Assist in planning and executing recovery meetings, sober social events, and educational workshops.
  • Peer Support:
    Recruit, train, and mentor student assistants and peer recovery coaches; facilitate Recovery Ally Training and harm reduction initiatives.
  • Administrative Duties:
    Maintain calendars, update Presence and Reserve West, manage program documentation, and compile monthly reports for grant compliance.
  • Data & Assessment:
    Collect and analyze participation data, prepare evaluation reports, and contribute to biennial reviews.
  • Community Engagement:
    Liaise with campus partners (Counseling Center, CIW, Housing) and external organizations (The Recovery Spot, CCMHA) to strengthen collaborative efforts.
  • Marketing & Outreach:
    Develop promotional materials for Recovery Month, Naloxone training, and Wolves RISE events.
Required Qualifications
  • Be fully admitted to a graduate degree program dents admitted provisionally are not eligible for assistantship positions.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Be enrolled full‑time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework and remain in good academic standing.
  • Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Enrolled in the College Student Affairs Master's Program.
  • Must be a role model for responsible and healthy lifestyle choices and enthusiastic about educating peers on wellness issues.
  • Must possess strong verbal skills and the desire to present information to peers.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work with individuals and groups in a leadership capacity.
  • Licensed Driver.
Proposed Salary
  • A monthly stipend of $1,400.00 per month.
  • A tuition waiver, reducing graduate tuition to $25 per semester plus mandatory fees as long as employed in the assistantship.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Frequent standing, walking, and interacting with students during outreach events.
  • Ability to lift and transport materials up to 20 pounds (e.g., event supplies, promotional items).
  • Work is primarily conducted on campus in classrooms, residence halls, and outdoor spaces.
