Position: Graduate Assistant for International Student Admissions (Beg Fall 2026)

Job Summary

The Graduate Assistant will actively contribute to the work of International Student Admission and Programs by fulfilling the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities

Planning, promotion, and execution of student events, and working with other offices on campus in support of their events in which international students can/should be included. – 50%

Maintaining contact and collaboration with the international student body, including but not limited to the International Student Club committee and members, to keep the ISAP office aware of the needs/wants of the student community. – 20%

Assists in the development and establishment of relationships with third‑party vendors, stakeholders, and community members in support of the integration of international students with the local community. – 10%

Accumulates and manages data within the office to aid the ISAP office in maintaining accurate and complete records, governmental compliance, maintenance of communication systems, and assisting in the long‑term strategic planning and marketing cycles of the office. – 10%

Assist in the processing of international student applications, including initial outreach, document review, etc. – 10%

Required Qualifications

Be fully admitted to a graduate degree program dents admitted provisionally are not eligible for assistantship positions.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Be enrolled full‑time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework and remain in good academic standing.
Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.
Licensed driver.

Preferred Qualifications

Office experience or a good understanding of budgets and office operations.
Event Planning.

Proposed Salary

A monthly stipend of $1,000.00 per month.
A tuition waiver, reducing your semester rate to $25 plus mandatory fees as long as you are employed in your assistantship.

Must be able to lift 15 pounds.
Must be able to sit for short periods of time.
Must be able to drive a 12 passenger van.
