The Biology Program at the University of West Georgia (UWG) invites applications for a Limited-Term Instructor Position to begin August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will conduct introductory biology courses and laboratories for biology majors and non-majors, teach Human Anatomy and Physiology to pre-nursing and allied health students, and participate in program activities as needed. Instruction may occur at the Carrollton or Newnan campuses.
Responsibilities- Teach a minimum of twelve credit hours (4/4 workload) in introductory biology and/or Human Anatomy and Physiology each semester.
- Provide reasonable and regular office hours to assist students.
- Maintain clear, regular, and engaging communication with enrolled students.
- Participate in Biology Program activities as required.
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Biology or a related field.
- Minimum of 18 graduate-level course credits in Biology or a related field.
- Ph.D. in Biology or a related field with teaching experience.
- Prior experience teaching Introductory Biology and/or Human Anatomy and Physiology at the undergraduate level.
Salary based on education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Subject matter expertise in Biology content necessary to teach introductory biology, Human Anatomy, and Physiology.
- Ability to communicate course content effectively, deliver materials through a learning management system, and oversee safe laboratory experiments.
- Ability to assess and address undergraduate students’ educational needs.
Typical interior work environment. May lift up to 15 lbs.
