Job Summary
Graduate TA is assigned 3 lab sections in introductory core biology courses for majors and non‑majors.
Duties include:
- 60% – Assist faculty in laboratory instruction, including material preparation, experiment setup, student guidance during lab sessions, following safety protocols, and equipment maintenance.
- 30% – Grade assignments, quizzes, and exams and provide feedback for student improvement.
- 10% – Provide tutoring and office hours for students seeking clarification.
Course grades are posted by the faculty supervisor on Ban Web for all sections.
Required Qualifications- Be fully admitted to a graduate degree program at UWG (students admitted provisionally are not eligible).
- Bachelor's degree in biology or a closely related scientific field.
- Be enrolled full‑time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
- Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework and remain in good academic standing.
- Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.
- Currently enrolled in the Biology Master’s Program.
- Licensed driver.
- Monthly stipend of $1,000.00 per month.
- Tuition waiver reducing graduate tuition to $25 per semester plus mandatory fees while employed in the assistantship.
- Resume.
- UWG Graduate School acceptance letter.
- Must be able to teach labs in person at the Carrollton campus.
- Ability to drive.
