Job SummaryThe Biology Program is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach introductory core biology courses for non-biology majors, service courses such as human anatomy & physiology for nursing and allied health students, and/or advanced biology courses depending on qualifications. Part-time faculty are critical to the mission of the Biology Program and may be hired as needed.
Responsibilities- Teach introductory biology core curriculum lecture and/or laboratory courses (e.g., BIOL 1010, 1010L, 1107, 1107L, 1108, 1108L) and lift 25 lbs.
- Teach biology-based lecture and/or laboratory service courses for nursing and allied health (e.g., Human Anatomy & Physiology: BIOL 2251, 2251L, 2252, 2252L; Medical Microbiology: BIOL 2260, 2260L) and lift 25 lbs.
- Teach intermediate and advanced biology courses depending upon qualifications and lift 25 lbs.
- For Responsibilities 1 & 2:
- Minimum of 18 graduate level course credits in biology or biological science‑related discipline.
- Provide information or references that support teaching effectiveness.
- For Responsibility 3:
- An earned doctorate in Biology or biological science‑related discipline.
- For Responsibilities 1 & 2:
- Master’s degree in Biology or biological science‑related discipline.
- Credentials such as an M.S. or M.D. that correlate with the application areas.
- For Responsibility 3:
- Ph.D. in Biology or biological science‑related discipline.
- Credentials that correlate with the application areas.
