Limited Term Instructor In Theatre

University of West Georgia Theatre and the School of Visual and Performing Arts seeks applications from qualified candidates to fill a Limited Term Instructor in Theatre. UWG Theatre is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre, and we offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre as a Generalist or within Acting and/or Design & Technology Concentrations.

Our faculty have strong reputations for excellence in ensemble work and mentoring young theatre artists. The LTI Position plays a critical role in student mentorship and development for our undergraduate majors and will be responsible for teaching a 4/4 teaching load with limited requirements for service and professional development on a semesterly calendar. The LTI
¿ s teaching responsibilities may include the instruction of discipline specific theatre courses (Intro to upper level) as well as Theatre
¿ s associated core classes as part of general education (Theatre Appreciation and/or Self Staging, which is a Theatre based oral communications course). Additionally, the LTI position will also be expected to provide professional-teaching contributions for at least one of the UWG theatre companies' annual productions.

Our campus is located at 1601 Maple Street, Carrollton, GA 30118.

Required Qualifications:

A Full-time faculty position with full benefits Teach 4 courses each semester; usually will consist of two theatre major courses within the candidate
¿ s specialized area and two courses within Theatre
¿ s associated university core classes (Theatre Appreciation and/or Self Staging, which is a Theatre based oral communications courses in general education). Requires limited service and professional activities/development. Provide professional-teaching contributions to facilitate at least one of our productions per season. Assists in the development and mentorship of our theatre majors. MFA in Theatre at the time of appointment is preferred;

however, applicants with an MA in Theatre and/or a minimum of at least 18 hours of graduate course work within the specified discipline are also encouraged to apply.
