Position: PT Faculty - Sport Mgmt Wellness & Phys Education (POOL)

Part-Time Adjunct Faculty

The Department of Sport Management, Wellness, and Physical Education (SWP) in the College of Education (COE) is seeking part-time adjunct faculty to teach in our programs. These positions may be available on a semester-by-semester basis. The Department of Sport Management, Wellness, and Physical Education prepares exemplary practitioners who make meaningful contributions to the community and lives of the individuals they work with.

Faculty in our programs provide innovative instruction in the following areas:

  • Sport Management: The program remains responsive to the evolving sport industry by ensuring that instruction stays relevant. Faculty are dedicated to advancing knowledge and practice through education, research, and collaboration with industry organizations.
  • Health and Community Wellness: BS in Health and Community Wellness:
    The program prepares professional candidates for employment in a variety of settings to promote health and wellness. Students have the option of taking 15 credit hours of electives or choosing an approved minor. Students also have the option to choose 1 of 4 professional tracks:
    Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Dietetics.
  • MS in Integrative Health and Wellness: This program prepares students to become health and wellness professionals, with an emphasis in the area of health and wellness coaching. This program is an approved training program for the NBHWC board­certified Health and Wellness Coach credential.
  • Physical Education: The program prepares candidates for initial certification in health and physical education at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, emphasizing content and skills to promote physically active, healthy lifestyles among P-12 students. The MEd in Physical Education allows current K-12 school faculty members to not only become emerging experts in the field, but to earn an advanced degree in their content area.

The successful candidate may assume a range of responsibilities including (1) teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level courses, with an emphasis on high quality face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online instruction; (2) supervising students in field experiences in various school settings; and (3) working collaboratively with faculty in the College of Education.

Master's degree. A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in one of these areas (i.e. Sport Management, Wellness, or Physical Education) is preferred.

Doctorate/PhD Industry experience. Higher education experience teaching in a fully online or hybrid environment. Familiarity and experience with practitioner certification requirements in Georgia and nationally as applicable. Knowledge of national accreditation standards as applicable.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
