America Reads/America Counts Tutor
America Reads/America Counts is a federal work-study tutoring program that allows UWG students, who qualify for Federal Work-Study, to assist children in local schools to improve their reading and math skills. The America Reads America Counts (ARAC) Federal Work-Study program needs dependable and enthusiastic UWG students who enjoy working with elementary and/or middle school children during the traditional school day and/or after-school hours.
Tutors will work under the supervision of a classroom teacher and/or after-school program coordinator. Our partner schools include:
- Sharp Creek Elementary:
Availability for traditional school day and/or after-school hours (2:30pm - 6:00pm) - Carrollton City Schools (Lower Elementary and Upper Elementary):
Availability from 1:45pm to 5:30pm - Carrollton Middle School:
Availability from 2:45pm to 6:45pm
* Preference of school placement is not guaranteed but will be assigned with the tutor's schedule and availability in mind.
