ResponsibilitiesManage all budgetary and position management processes for assigned areas at the University of West Georgia. This includes preparing, approving, and reconciling budget worksheets and transactions, administering position management systems, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, maintaining accuracy in financial system coding, processing amendments, addressing budget discrepancies, and overseeing position control functions to support organizational staffing and budget objectives.
Develop, generate, and maintain financial reports, databases, and analytical tools. Provide expertise in data interpretation, support departmental reporting needs, and guide strategic financial planning through trend analysis and customized reporting solutions.
Serve as the primary liaison for departmental budget processes by coordinating information collection, offering training and instructional materials, and delivering presentations on budget-related topics to university personnel.
Assist in creating and monitoring the university's annual budget, including projecting revenue, allocating funds, analyzing expenditure patterns, and maintaining waiver analyses. Act as a subject matter expert on UWG and USG budget policies by advising stakeholders, resolving budget errors, and supporting comprehensive financial analysis and contingency planning.
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of financial analysis, budgeting processes, and financial reporting methodologies, especially in higher education or academic settings. Well-versed in accounting standards, business administration practices, and institutional compliance requirements related to budget management and financial planning.
SkillsProficient in process mapping, documentation, and project management, with expertise in using Microsoft Office, Excel, and data reporting tools. Skilled in data analysis techniques and the application of financial data to support organizational decisions. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills to foster professional relationships and deliver high-quality customer service. Demonstrates strong organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Physical RequirementsOffice Environment – Work normally performed in a typical interior work environment.
Proposed Salary$57,056 to $69,000 annually. Paid on a monthly basis.
