Pay Rate: $21.79– $23.18

The Take Up 1 is an entry level role that is responsible for rewinding material into a specified length while spark testing. It also strips PVC and Nylon insulation off copper and aluminum wire that is sent to the Carrollton Rod Mill or the Kentucky Rod Mill.

• Run a specified package length.
• Set spark-tester to appropriate parameters.
• Tag and package product properly.
• Produce a quality product according to specifications and perform visual checks.
• Possible painting of wire, print removal, or reprinting while rewinding.
• Make a quality patch on defective material when needed.
• Strip insulation off scrap wire.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Cross-train to operate one or more equipment within the identified workgroup at the facility.
• Once trained in more complex jobs, may fill in for absent or vacant positions.
• Rotate on a set frequency within the workgroup to maintain skill proficiency.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must read, write, and speak English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• Must be able to stand and lift heavy loads for long periods
• Must be able to follow instructions
• Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs.

• Do not release products until all quality checks have been passed
• Perform quality checks as outlined in machine process procedures and conduct minor maintenance when necessary
• Immediately report quality issues to the supervisor or quality manager
• Use the ISO Quality System documentation to guide daily quality activities

• Must be able to work in hot and cold environments typical of a prefabricated building without climate control
• Physical activities include: balance, climbing, fingering, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, standing, stooping, walking and sitting
