Travel CCU Registered Nurse

Job Description

TNAA Total Med RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for an ICU (Intensive Care Unit) position in Carroll, Iowa. The role requires 1‑2 years of recent acute care experience.

• Evaluate and monitor patients in the ICU setting.
• Document and provide physician‑directed care.
• Assess and implement patient care plans, delegating to other providers as appropriate.
• Provide education and support to patient families.
• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Order and evaluate diagnostic tests.
• Collect lab samples, order corresponding work, and interpret reports.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, and interpret electronic displays.
• Ensure proper placement and functioning of catheters, leads, and tubing.
• Communicate patients' conditions to family members.

ICU Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. Nurses must be able to lift 20 pounds, and may need to lift up to 50 pounds y may be exposed to chemicals or infectious diseases and may encounter patients who are confused, agitated, or uncooperative.
