Responsibilities
  • Primary Research Support Responsibilities (75%)
    • Assist faculty in locating assessments and other materials used in research projects.
    • Prepare materials to be used in faculty research projects.
    • Maintain equipment and supplies housed in the clinic which are used in faculty research projects to ensure they are in proper working condition.
    • Assist the clinic coordinator with preparing, collecting, analyzing and entering data for all groups of surveys completed at the end of each semester about clinical services in the CCC.
    • Assist speech faculty supervisors with any materials or tasks needed.
  • Student Mentorship and Professional Development (15%)
    • Become a mentor to the UWG students by assisting peer students with decision making and mentoring peer students on programs and procedures in the CCC.
    • Achieve goals to increase knowledge of research practices and increase academic knowledge of speech therapy and increase professional leadership skills of the GRA to be competitive in future careers.
  • Administrative and Operational Support (10%)
    • This position will have general administrative support duties per requests of the CCC coordinator. This will include customer service to clients, maintaining inventory in the CCC resource rooms, and assisting with technology used in the CCC.
  • Required Qualifications
    • Be fully admitted to the graduate degree program of Speech-Language Pathology.
    • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
    • Be enrolled full-time in a UWG graduate program during the assistantship period.
    • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all previous and current graduate coursework and remain in good academic standing.
    • Meet eligibility requirements for employment in the United States.
    • Maintain confidentiality of information in the CCC and sign a confidentiality agreement.
    • Must be able to work on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 4:30 to 7:30.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Initiative with good problem solving and time management skills.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision to complete responsibilities on time.
    Proposed Salary
    • A monthly stipend of $1000.00 per month
    • A tuition waiver, reducing your graduate tuition to $25 per semester plus mandatory fees as long as you are employed in your assistantship.
