By joining our BV Construction group, you will develop and enhance your skills in an on‑site, hands‑on environment. The role focuses on safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, startup and decommissioning, and field engineering. You will assure that all construction equipment operates safely and efficiently, diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, or overhauling mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment such as cranes, bulldozers, forklifts, graders, and conveyors.
This field‑based role requires travel.
- Use hand and power tools to repair, replace or perform maintenance on equipment.
- Receive equipment, document condition, schedule maintenance, and keep service records.
- Operate and inspect heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance, ensuring efficient fueling and oiling.
- Diagnose faults, determine required repairs, using diagnostic equipment.
- Examine parts for damage or wear, using micrometers and gauges.
- Adjust and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices.
- Repair and replace damaged parts; fabricate needed parts from sheet metal.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
- Clean parts with solvent or immerse them in solvent tanks.
- Weld or solder broken parts and structural members.
- Repair, rewire, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Research, order, and maintain parts inventory.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance.
- Read operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Fit bearings to repair or overhaul mobile equipment.
- Assist operators with daily inspections and ensure safety policies.
- Ensure equipment leaving the job or warehouse is job‑ready.
- Act as a lead and direct other professionals, including training and performance management.
- Identify improvement opportunities and participate in continuous improvement.
- Lead or participate in safety processes and programs, ensuring zero injuries.
- Report accidents and near misses; participate in investigations.
- Lead pre‑job work planning and safety discussions.
- Understand and respond to safety hazards and warning devices.
- Follow lockout tag‑out procedures and training requirements.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Use effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Act in the capacity of a lead person; no direct management of the people to whom work direction is provided.
Preferred QualificationsHigh school graduate with some college experience.

- At least 7 years as an A‑level technician with strong mechanical knowledge.
- At least 2 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
- Working knowledge of industrial construction equipment, machines and tools.
- Valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
- All necessary tools.
- Minimum age 18.
- Class A CDL possession or obtaining within 6 months of hire.
- Must complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements, which may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record search.
- Travel may be required.
- Maneuver between office, warehouse, laydown yard, and construction site environments.
- Work in cramped spaces and awkward positions.
- Work in temperatures above 90°F or below 32°F and inclement weather.
- Work under bright or low lighting, and in noisy conditions.
- Work around hazardous equipment and at heights.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move in confined spaces, and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds.
