Mechanic II
$2,000 Sign On Bonus - External Candidates Only The Mechanic II is responsible for the maintenance tasks that may be preventive or corrective in nature. Employee must demonstrate a high level of mechanical ability in a variety of different tasks requiring knowledge in electrical, HVAC, steam, medical gases, pneumatic, plumbing and alarm systems. Other responsibilities include assisting with routine tests. fire alarm, sprinkler drop tests, Emergency generator load test, emergency battery lighting test, line isolation test and new equipment inspections.
EducationHigh School Diploma or GED
ExperienceThree years of related experience. Requires working knowledge of specialized practices, equipment, and procedures.
Licenses & Certifications* Driver's License
Qualifications* 3 years of mechanical and building maintenance
* Ability to read, understand, and implement safety rules instructions in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
* Ability to speak clearly and distinctly, primarily to convey problems and work status to others.
* Ability to summarize work progress in work order form or electronically.
* General knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, steam, medical gas, pneumatic, plumbing and alarm systems
* Must be legally able to drive in the State of Georgia. Clean motor vehicle record.
* Complies with standards set forth by regulatory agencies.
* Documentation is in compliance with hospital policy procedure and other regulatory agency requirements.
* Employee is required to assess each job and use the proper Personal Protective Equipment while performing related job functions. Employees must realize that each job function and work area may require different PPE. Employee should check with supervisor before performing any work if they are not sure of needed PPE.
* Other responsibilities include assisting with routine tests. fire alarm, sprinkler drop tests, Emergency generator load test, emergency battery lighting test, line isolation test and new equipment inspections.
* Responsible to maintain, repair, and or adjust electrical, mechanical, HVAC, steam, medical gases, alarm systems, pneumatic and plumbing systems in a timely efficient manner.
* May be required to work weekends or take ?
Call? as scheduled and respond to all pages within 10 minutes and be at organization within 60 minutes.
* Participates in continuing education as mandated per department and system policy: a.) Safety Management Plan b.) Security Management Plan c.) Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Plan d.) Emergency Management Plane.) Fire Safety Management Plan f.) Medical Equipment Management Plan g.) Utility Management Plan h.) Annual Hospital Wide & Legal Compliance In-service
* Required to assist others in department outside normal duties. (Landscape to help paint, painter to mow grass, etc.)
* Required to carry a pager, radio and or PDA while on duty, and be able to respond to all calls immediately.
Employee performs within the prescribed limits of Tanner Health System's Ethics and Compliance program. Is responsible to detect, observe, and report compliance variances to their immediate supervisor, the Compliance Officer, or the Hotline.
