Student Assistant - Water Quality Field Technician

Job Summary

Field technicians conduct all aspects of field sampling for a local surface water quality monitoring project. Water samples are collected at local sites, and instrument data is collected. All field instrumentation is to be maintained. Some laboratory analyses will also be conducted.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled at UWG in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a 2.0 GPA or higher.
  • Must be able to provide your own reliable transportation to field sites.
  • Must be able to access difficult stream locations.
  • Must be able to perform precise work.
  • Must be a major in EES or Geosciences.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • The field technician will be required to access difficult stream locations while carrying equipment. The technician will work in all types of weather.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Science background.
