Position:Senior Automotive Technician
As a Senior Automotive Technician, you will diagnose and repair customer vehicles with accuracy, efficiency, and quality, using advanced diagnostics and ensuring every vehicle meets MAP guidelines, dealership, manufacturer, and company repair standards.
Compensation & Benefits$30.00 / Hr. – $45.00 / Hr. (flag rate) depending on experience and certifications.

- Diagnose vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
- Perform work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
- Perform complex and heavy-duty repairs.
- Explain technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals including the Store Manager, Service Consultants, and customers.
- Recommend services necessary to keep the vehicle in running condition and document all recommendations in the customer file.
- Follow all safety procedures and report any concerns to direct supervisor.
- Work flexible schedules, including weekends as needed but not Sundays, and perform other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
- Adhere to Sun Auto’s core values, all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Previous automotive technician / mechanic experience required.
- ASE certifications in lieu of experience.
- Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics.
- Valid Driver’s license.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Possess State Inspector License or ability to obtain a State Inspector license (in applicable locations) within 30 days of hire date.
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
Technical School experience preferred.
The Senior Automotive Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The work environment varies in temperature and may include extreme heat and/or cold. Safety goggles or other PPE may be required.
- Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and walk to gain access to various areas of the building.
- Bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch regularly; must have full range of motion with arms and hands.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly; lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently.
- Communicate with customers and shop personnel.
- Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and refocus.
