Position: Product Analyst III (Origination Systems)

Pennymac

Pennymac is a specialty financial services firm with a comprehensive mortgage platform focused on the production and servicing of U.S. mortgage loans and the management of investments related to the U.S. mortgage market.

At Pennymac, our people are the foundation of our success and the heart of our dynamic work culture. Together, we work toward a unified goal of helping millions of Americans achieve aspirations of home ownership through the complete mortgage journey.

A Typical Day

The Product Analyst III serves as a vital link between business stakeholders and the technical development team. In this role, you support the Product Owner by managing the day-to-day health of our sales technology backlog and focus on optimizing the tools our Loan Officers and Consumer Direct teams use to engage borrowers. This is an ideal role for an analyst with a strong Agile foundation who is looking to grow into a Product Management career within the mortgage industry.

  • Deconstruct complex business needs into clear user stories and technical requirements. Ensure Definition of Ready is met for the development team.
  • Act as a secondary point of contact for the Consumer Direct sales floor, troubleshoot system issues and identify opportunities to streamline the Point of Sale experience.
  • Manage and groom the team backlog. Lead or co-facilitate Scrum ceremonies (Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Retrospectives) to ensure the team remains focused on high-priority deliverables.
  • Create detailed process maps and workflow diagrams illustrating how data flows from lead providers into the Loan Origination System.
  • Develop test cases and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business subject matter experts to ensure features function correctly before production deployment.
  • Maintain the source of truth documentation for system features, ensuring training materials for Loan Officers are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Use G-Suite and BI tools to monitor feature adoption and system performance metrics.
What You’ll Bring
  • 3+ years of professional experience in product analysis, business analysis, or a related technical role within an Agile environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) with hands-on experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Prior experience in Mortgage Originations, specifically working with Consumer Direct sales or Retail Loan Officers, is highly preferred.
  • Exposure to LOS (e.g., Encompass, Empower) or POS (e.g., Blend, BeSmartee) platforms is a significant advantage.
  • Highly proficient in G-Suite (Sheets, Docs); experience with SQL or BI tools (Tableau, Power

    BI) is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional work experience.
