The Materials Management Manager will lead Infrastructure NA’s Materials Management (MM) function in support of Cablcon’s U.S. and Mexico operations, and Cablcon’s North American Sales, overseeing material flow, demand planning, materials needs for S&OP, and inventory management to ensure the right products are available at the right time and cost. This role will serve as a key link between Operations, Sourcing, Sales and Corporate teams, driving alignment, efficiency, and scalability across the supply chain.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, data-driven leader who thrives on improving processes, developing people, and driving cross-functional collaboration to support business growth and operational excellence.

The Materials Management Manager provides leadership to the people, procedures and systems of Cablcon, to ensure quality products and services are secured at the best total value in a multi-location, global manufacturing and distribution environment. Healthy, vibrant, value-added partnerships will be developed and nurtured over time by maintaining a close working partnership with Sourcing and our Suppliers.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Cablcon Materials Management team, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
  • Partner closely with Sourcing to support strategic supplier relationships, best-value purchasing, and long-term material cost improvements.
  • Lead the S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) process within the MM department, balancing demand and supply to optimize working capital and service levels.
  • Collaborate with Operations to coordinate product flow, timing, and warehouse space utilization.
Process & Performance Improvement
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance scalability.
  • Implement standard work practices and remove non-value-added steps to improve accuracy, speed, and efficiency.
  • Reduce and prevent Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory through proactive forecasting, scrap management, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track material availability, forecast accuracy, and trade working capital performance.
Cross-Functional Alignment
  • Work in close alignment with the IEWC corporate teams, OEM teams, and Global Infrastructure Materials Management team, sharing and adopting best practices from across the enterprise.
  • Lead monthly, weekly, and quarterly meetings—internal and/or external—to review performance, initiatives, and alignment with business goals (as needed).
  • Support effective communication between sites, ensuring process consistency and collaboration across Cablcon NA operations.
Systems & Data
  • Utilize and optimize two ERP systems (Rubicon and SAP), and Netstock to support planning, procurement, and materials management processes.
  • Partner with IT and Finance teams to ensure data integrity and enable improved decision-making through system-based reporting.
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain & Operations Management or relevant field
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible related experience – managing people, processes, and defining standard operating procedure; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred experience with cable assembly manufacturing experience (fiber or copper).
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to review BOMs and determine requirements for production.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and business information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to create and execute an inventory roadmap that will support Sales growth expectations year over year.
  • Ability to work in a Windows environment.
  • Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Excel—Pivot Tables and formula calculations, PowerPoint and Word.
  • SAP experience and/or Rubicon is preferred.
