Company Overview

CTL Amedica is an ISO 13485 certified and FDA registered medical device company with offices in Carrollton, Texas. CTL designs, manufactures, and distributes medical device products and systems for spinal surgeons, specifically implants and devices.

Position Summary

Senior Buyer/Planner responsible for purchasing and planning activities, including managing supplier performance and ensuring availability of raw materials, finished inventory, and services to meet customer requirements. Supports product development as a cross‑functional team member, sourcing prototypes and supporting product ramp‑up efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain forecasting and demand planning models for purchased and manufactured products and materials.
  • Perform Make‑vs‑Buy analysis and recommend actions based on results.
  • Manage materials using Excel spreadsheets and Quick Books Enterprise.
  • Generate and track purchase orders; maintain accurate open PO lines.
  • Define requirements for a future ERP system and assist with periodic inventory counts.
  • Communicate product availability information to internal customers.
  • Research, evaluate prospective qualified vendors, solicit quotes, and provide input to management regarding purchasing options; analyze vendor quotes for accuracy and reasonableness.
  • Maintain supplier relationships, including site visits.
  • Purchase services and inventory from domestic and international qualified suppliers based on quality, delivery, and price.
  • Manage suppliers in compliance with CTL Amedica supplier qualification and maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure required supporting specifications and documentation accompany purchase orders, verify acknowledgement of receipts, and keep up‑to‑date status of open orders, including changes to pricing, delivery, and documentation.
  • Develop alternate qualified suppliers for critical inventory and services.
  • Facilitate sales, inventory, and operational planning meetings to ensure purchased and manufactured products are available to meet sales forecasts.
  • Actively contribute to supplier development activities and work with Quality to develop and maintain the supplier management system.
  • Follow CTL Amedica quality system policies and procedures to maintain compliance with FDA and ISO regulations.
  • Support efforts to reduce freight cost of inbound goods.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Preferably 3+ years of medical device procurement and inventory planning experience within a manufacturing environment, including experience in an FDA and ISO 13485 compliant environment.
  • Experience in inventory planning.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), math, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Intermediate‑advanced computer skills in Quick Books, iTraycer, Excel, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Inventory program experience (Min/Max, VMI, Kanban, etc.).
  • Advanced organizational skills are essential.
  • Operates with a sense of urgency tempered by sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
Nonessential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Strategic sourcing experience negotiating contracts, identifying potential new suppliers, and assessing supplier core competencies and risk points.
  • Experience purchasing from multiple vendors.
  • Associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or inventory management; bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Responsibility, discipline, and organization are essential.
  • Medical device field experience preferred but not required.
Job Status
  • On‑site, full‑time, Monday through Friday, day shift.
